My Resume

Hi I’m Chantel,

a poet, registered 200HR yoga teacher, and creative writing workshop facilitator. I also identify as a deep thinker, world traveler, space holder, and loving advocate & warrior for wholeness, embodied liberation, and self-transformation.

Formally, I am a UC Berkeley alum with 4+ years in non-profit program coordination & facilitation, and a current grad student of Somatic Psychology at California Institute of Integral Studies.

I navigate life with the belief that every individual contains an inner world of curiosity and creativity inside them. I believe this inner world is where we tap into when we’re living passionately and in alignment. I also believe that this inner world is what we tap into when needing to access our bravery or retreat to when experiencing feelings of fear, uncertainty, or vulnerability.

It’s this inner world that roots and connects us to the truest version of ourselves as we move throughout our daily lives, and it’s my deepest desire to help people explore, reflect on, and make meaning of this inner world via writing, movement, art and creative inquiry.

As a Black woman from the Mississippi Gulf Coast, my personal and professional paths are shaped by how I move through the world in my body and intersecting identities — and by what brings me joy and pleasure.

I’m here to help you explore and connect with what brings YOU joy and pleasure

as an act of resilience

as an act of reclamation and

as an act of self-preservation.

Thank you for being here with me.
