Participants…

    • to engage in a guided yoga flow that challenges their mind and body, while stretching and strengthening the muscles, and working up a sweat!

    • to explore and cultivate a sense of grounding, self-love, and awareness within themselves through traditional asanas and techniques of yoga.

    • to be taught by a certified yoga instructor that prioritizes safety, consent, and respect of all bodies and abilities.

    • uplifting energy and connectedness cultivated by the yoga flow, music playlist, and community check-in/check out activities.

    • a sense of mental relief, calm, and deep relaxation supported by gentle movement, meditation, and pranayama (breathwork).

    • growing confidence in achieving yoga poses and perhaps booking your next class!

  • What style of yoga do you teach?

    • I am trained in Hatha yoga - a holistic practice that focuses on bringing balance and peace to the body, mind, and spirit via intentional breath, meditation, and yoga postures.

In my classes, I blend Hatha, Vinyasa, and Power yoga to challenge participants to get curious about and offer tenderness towards their body’s capacity and range via stretching, unwinding, and releasing tension.

Not to mention, each flow is tailored to a dope soundtrack.

Speaking of soundtracks, what type of music can I expect to hear in your class?

    • My yoga classes are non-traditional, meaning that aside from meditative sounds you should also expect to hear songs from artists i.e. Cleo Sol, A Tribe Called Quest, Beyoncé, Sade, Tycho, ODESZA, and Kehlani blended into the class.

Each playlist is crafted to align with the class theme & flow while also honoring my individuality and identity as a Black yoga teacher.

Do I already need to have a yoga practice to take your class?

    • Not at all! My teaching method and verbal cues are beginner friendly so that participants of all levels and backgrounds can follow along and feel welcome in the class.

If you are seasoned yogi, you may feel that my cues are a bit slower and spacious, but this is to allow participants the freedom to add in or explore any additional movements or curiosities they might have during the class. I am a big advocate of participants listening to their own bodies’ needs, as that is their greatest teacher.

    What if I’m not flexible?

    • This is one of the biggest myths and reasons that people do not take a yoga class! Yoga, and especially my classes, are designed to be accessible for all bodies, no matter your flexibility. This means that THERE IS NO ONE WAY TO ACHIEVE A POSE. And actually, if you continue practicing yoga, you’ll find that you’ll become more flexible over time.

What if I don’t want meditation in these classes?

    • No problem at all, just please make sure to indicate your preference on the Inquiry Form. Please be advised that the yoga class will still begin and close with grounding activities to effectively support participants with setting into their bodies and the space. However, this does not have to happen via meditation. I offer somatic techniques and exercises that focus solely on the body and five senses to do so.

Are these classes available in person or online?

    • These classes are available both online and in person. For in person sessions located 10 miles+ outside of my immediate area, there will be an additional fee of $0.75/per mile.

Do you teach yoga classes for children?

    • Yes, I offer classes for children age 12+.

Can you incorporate writing/journaling exercises into these classes?

    • Absolutely! It brings me joy to blend yoga and creative writing together to support the body and spirit in fostering mindfulness, well-being, and wholeness. Just make sure to indicate that you’d like both in the Inquiry Form!
